My name is Éva Tóth Fejesné and I live with my family in a house with a garden in  Budapest.

With my husband our common hobby is hiking.

On such a trip we spent our holiday in Zakopane and when we first saw one of these snowflakes in the market, it was love at first sight with this breed.

When we came home I tried to find out more about this  breed.

We couldn't quiet down until we found our own snowflake  Kán  (Konyi).

Polski Owczarek Podhalanski Kán

Our Polish Tatra shepherd dog, Kán Nutrena, nicknamed Konyi was  born  in Nutrena kennel, Dobieszowice, in Poland on 22 April 2009. (Kán comes from a litter of 5 pups.)

Kán is related to original mountain dogs, and this can be detected in the Polish registry entry, KW 306.

Kán moved to live in Hungary on 27 June 2009. Kán is 3-years-old Podhalanski male and he weighs about 56 kg and his height is 68 cm.

Kán's character is quiet, reliable, very kind. When he meets strangers he moves back and waits until we let him know that the person is reliable.

Kán gets on well with other dogs not at all keen on fighting.

We regularly go to dog shows where Konyi's results are very nice.

You can see the other details in the  Awards  section of our website.

The Owczarek Podhalanski has a very specific personality and a striking appearance.
